Description
Our client is the nation's premier civil rights/human relations agency. They are a leader in the development of materials, programs and services that builds bridges of communication, understanding and respect among diverse groups, carrying out its mission through a network of 30 Regional and Satellite Offices in the United States and abroad.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To develop strategies and implement activities to identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts from existing and potential donors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary
1. Identify and cultivate major gift and planned giving donors regionally and nationally, including participating in strategic planning with senior staff.
2. Develop major gifts proposals by targeting donors based on potential for giving and substantive interests.
3. Assist regional lay leadership in identifying prospects for solicitation and cultivating relationships with them.
4. Select and help to develop written materials on the agency and its mission for prospective donors.
5. Work closely with key lay leaders to identify and solicit major donors. Develop effective strategies for one-on-one solicitations and Planned Gifts.
6. Cultivate relationships with major donors by making regular contact, organizing individual and group meetings and coordinating special events and donor recognition events.
7. Work with the Grants Writer to initiate and write proposals soliciting major gifts from family foundations and corporations.
